INGREDIENTS:
1 lb lean ground turkey (or lean ground beef)
12 ounces medium-spicy salsa (or mild, your preference)
1 can (16 ounces) fat-free refried black beans
Flour tortillas (preferably low-carb, whole-wheat)
8 ounces bag of shredded reduced-fat mexican cheese (I didn't use in my burritos cause I didn't want the extra fat - I guess you could use fat free cheese)
Fat-free sour cream, to taste (optional)
1 fresh Avocado (optional - again, high in fat but good fats!)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Cook poultry in a skillet over high heat until it's brown all the way through. Reduce heat, and add salsa and beans. Simmer, stirring occasionally until meat, salsa, and beans are smooth. Remove from heat. In a tortilla, place bean mixture, a small handful of shredded cheese (optional), a spoonful of sour cream (optional), and a couple of slices of avocado (optional). Roll it up and enjoy!
NUTRITIONAL VALUE
(Approximate - didn't count the cheese in):
Depending on the version of items used, this can change drastically but here is what I came up with. Again, this is approximately (not concrete!)
Calories: 336
Fat: 15 grams with avocado (I counted for approximately 1/4 cup of avocado per burrito), only 9.5 g without avocado (could be even less fat if you find extra lean turkey!! Mine contained 9 grams of fat per 4 oz (uncooked)!
Protein: 28g
Carbs: 28 g (the wrap that I used had the following nutritional value: 70 cal, 4 grams of protein and 7 g of carbs)
